2021 Social Media Audience Report

The following is a report for audience engagement for the year 2021 across our social media channels

Facebook

Our page subscribers grew to 11,048 from 10,201 the previous year. 510,776 people saw our content which generated a total of 239,700 minutes of video time watched.

Majority of our viewers are between 18 and 44 years of age with men being 65% and women 35%

45% of our audience is from Nairobi county with the rest spread across major urban counties of Kenya

84% of our audience is in Kenya with organic sharing of our content taking it beyond Kenya to other countries in Africa

Our most watched video was “Social Butterfly” with 35,341 viewers of whom 14,400 watched to the end.

99% of comments are positive with qualitative analysis showing evidence of behavior change in viewers

Instagram

25,100 people saw our content with 117 directly engaging with our content via comments, likes and shares

Our Instagram page followers have increased from 347 to 521 over the last year with 67% men and 33% women

88% of our fans are in Kenya and 61% in Nairobi county

100% of comments on Instagram were positive

Our most popular Instagram video was “Social Butterfly”

Youtube

A total of 4,686 people watched our vides on Youtube across desktop, smartphone and smart tvs.

Our most popular film is “How to wear a condom” with over 830 views

Our youtube page subscribers increased to 776 up from 592 previous year. Most of our viewers were female aged 25-34 from Kenya

Conclusions and Recommendations

  1. Increased budget for marketing and advertising our content which is showing great results

  2. Regular production of short films to retain audiences and attract new ones

  3. We lost out COO Harrison Kariuki in December 2021 to covid. This has put a strain on our limited human resources as we cannot afford to pay a fulltime non-cofounder staff. We request help in building our human and technical capacity to be able to continue managing our operations.
